Job summary Respiratory Nurse Specialist, Band 6 (22.5 hours a week) The Respiratory Nurse Specialist will work as a member of the Integrated Respiratory Team in Gloucestershire, within the acute setting to support both Inpatient and Outpatient Services for a variety of conditions such as Asthma, COPD, Bronchiectasis, ILD, oxygen assessments and providing follow-up care through the virtual supported discharge service. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to step up into a specialist nursing role. The post holder must be willing to work weekends when required. Main duties of the job Within the role the post holder will be an integral part of the Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist team ensuring robust communication with members of the Respiratory team, MDT, GPs, patients and relatives. They will also be responsible for seeing patients in the hospital assessing them for oxygen, completing COPD or asthma reviews including bundle and audit and assessing patients for the virtual ward. They will then provide virtual consultations to the patients on the virtual ward each day. The post holder will also support or lead a sub speciality to ensure expert knowledge and service development.
