Job Title: Quality Inspector

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Quality Inspector will ensure that all products and processes meet the required quality standards in line with ISO9001/AS9100 certifications. This role involves conducting inspections, documenting findings, and working closely with production teams to maintain high-quality manufacturing standards, particularly in the Defence, Aerospace, and Nuclear sectors.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality issues. Prepare reports for management and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
* Quality Management System: Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with ISO9001/AS9100 standards.
* Non-Conformance Handling: Identify non-conformities and participate in root cause analysis. Collaborate with the production team to implement corrective actions.
* Customer Liaison: Serve as a point of contact for customers on quality-related inquiries and participate in quality audits.
* Training: Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards and inspection processes to enhance overall product quality.
* Performance Metrics: Monitor and report on quality performance metrics, including right first time, internal reject rates, and customer feedback.
* Supplier Management: Assist in evaluating and approving suppliers based on quality performance and compliance with standards.
* Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of quality processes.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards, including REACH and conflict minerals regulations.
THE PERSON:
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a quality inspection role within manufacturing, preferably in Defence, Aerospace, or Nuclear sectors.
* Familiarity with ISO9001 and AS9100 standards; knowledge of NADCAP is a plus.
* Strong understanding of engineering processes, including precision machining, sheet metalwork, and fabrication.
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to assess quality issues effectively.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and collaboration with team members.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access).
