Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Electrician to join its fast-growing team. The successful candidate must be ambitious and keen to establish themselves as a senior electrician within the company that delivers a substantial number of commercial and domestic Solar PV installations each year.
The Role: The Senior Electrician will form part of the management team at an already well-established renewable energy business and will be expected to lead on the delivery of the day to day commercial and domestic Solar PV installations. The successful candidate will report to the operations Director and will be expected to manage a team of 5 electricians.
This role will suit someone who has a thorough understanding of Solar PV and who is ready to take that next step in their career path. Suitable candidates will be expected to have led electrical installation teams, managing multiple Solar Photovoltaic projects over several years.
Most of the work will be on commercial property, although there is also a significant number of domestic installations each year as well as domestic and larger commercial battery installation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Forming a key part of the project and operations management function as well as being involved and advising on technical design and purchasing decisions.
* Ongoing training and recruitment of the electrical team, as necessary.
* Ensure that all sites comply with all health & safety legislation.
* Liaise with Office team regarding materials and logistics of undertaking the work.
* Ensure jobs are completed and resolve any issues relating to the installation prior to handover, ensuring they meet our required quality standards.
* Inspect completed installations and troubleshoot any problems.
* Communicate effectively with customers and address any questions.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation.
* Comply with all company policies and procedures and drive continual improvement of our standards.
* This is a hands-on role and some pitching-in to get work completed to deadlines will be necessary.
* Most of the time will be spent on our sites which are across the UK.
Requirements:
Essential:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as a NICEIC or NAPIT registered electrician.
* MCS-accredited training and certification in solar PV installation and maintenance.
* Proven experience working on grid-tied industrial, commercial and domestic Solar PV systems in the UK and the know-how to make the installations successful and profitable.
* Commercially strong with experience of leading a team of installation electricians and a practical problem solver.
* Experience with popular solar PV brands and equipment used in the UK, ideally including SolarEdge.
* Higher-level electrical qualifications (Level 3 NVQ, HNC/HND); AM2 and Inspection and Testing.
* Excellent IT skills and understanding of connecting PV and battery systems for web monitoring.
Desirable:
* ECS Card with additional safety qualifications for working at heights, confined spaces, etc.

* Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
* Valid driving licence.
