Start Date: ASAP Days & Hours: Sunday 8.00am – 6.00pm Family/Client Pets: Not applicable Recruiter: Jade (url removed) Suhada (url removed) About this client/child: Snap Care has had the pleasure of working with Ben since he was a toddler, and he is now 6 years old He lives in his family home in Chigwell with Mummy, Daddy and his 2-year-old brother. He has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and epilepsy that is controlled with daily medication. Ben enjoys playing, exploring the world in his power chair, sensory play and watching his favourite TV shows. He has a great sense of humour and expresses his likes and dislikes through gestures, vocalization and is beginning to use his AAC device as well as “Now and Next” cards to support his communication. He has a small, dedicated care team providing 1:1 day and night support; with an opening for a weekend SEN Support Worker to join and work with him on Sundays. Overview of role: Ben is sensory sensitive, and can be shy in new situations, so requires each new member of his team to have the ability to gently build rapport with him, using a calm and holistic approach. Once Ben feels safe, secure and comfortable in your company; he will love to see you come through the door and will be ready to play lots of games, participate in activities and trips out / community events etc. As well as planning fun and engaging things to do, the Weekend SEN Support Worker will assist and support Ben with all aspects of his health, care and medical needs. Including, manual handling (Ceiling track hoists), personal care, support during mealtimes, administering medication, assisting with his rehabilitation and therapy plan. You will be confident working in a busy family home and facilitating a young person to reach his full potential. Who this job would suit: A fun, bubbly, engaging and enthusiastic SEN professional.
