JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Training and Development Lead
JOB GRADE/SALARY: £35,000 per annum
HOURS: 36 hours per week over 5 days (May include day and evening work)
LOCATION: Based within the FASS office - 24 Hill Street, Kirkcaldy, KY1 1HX
FASS deliver services over 5 days/evenings per week throughout Fife
Essential to have both Counselling and Counselling Supervisor experience
MAIN FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILITY
The perfect candidate for the Training and Development Lead role will:
1. Develop and implement a strategic training plan to address the needs of both staff and external stakeholders.
2. Design, deliver, and evaluate high-quality training programs focused on mental health and alcohol support.
3. Collaborate with various departments/organisations to identify training needs and ensure alignment with organisational goals and development.
4. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in training and development.
5. Foster partnerships within the community to promote training offerings and enhance service delivery.
Reporting Relationships:
The Training and Development Lead reports to the ADAPT Head Of Service.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
1. Certification as a Living Works accredited ASIST trainer.
2. Accreditation as a Scottish Mental Health First Aid Trainer.
3. Proven ability to create bespoke training packages based on organizational and community needs.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse audiences effectively.
5. Experience in training delivering within a health or social care setting.
6. Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral are required, as well as excellent organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative.
7. You must have a full UK driving licence and the use of a car (business mileage is reimbursed), as travel will be frequent and include travel to services all over Scotland.
General:
1. In conjunction with the Head of Service, co-ordinate and review a service action plan which incorporates short and long-term goals.
2. Work closely with the Head of Service and Administration staff to ensure effective communication and continuity of service.
3. Keep up to date with current thinking and developments in the alcohol and addiction field and share information with other members of staff and volunteers within FASS and apply this to the development of the service.
4. Maintain and co-ordinate a framework to record individual and service outcomes, help to analyse the data and meet all reporting requirements.
5. Ensure effective, efficient and economic use of resources.
6. Keep records in accordance with FASS guidelines and procedures.
7. Provide guidance and support as appropriate to other people working in this field.
8. Ensure that evidence and best practice is always applied within the service.
9. Carry out other duties in line with organisational requirements and as requested by the Head of Service.
