We have an exciting opportunity within NHS Supply Chain for a Supplier Relationship Manager to join the NHSSC Supplier Relationship Management team.
What does a Supplier Relationship Manager do at NHS Supply Chain?
As a core pillar of our Supplier Management Function, our supplier relationship formal programme through robust evaluation criteria and internal stakeholder engagement identifies our Strategic, Preferred and Key suppliers to work with via a dedicated Relationship Manager in a structured framework.
The role will drive activities to identify and maximise value above and beyond that initially set out in the initial commercial award. This cannot be done in isolation, so your passion to build and maintain a broad network of stakeholder relationships, with the ability to deliver change through others and influence outcomes across all levels of the organisation for mutual gain will be critical to make the difference.
Every day you will …
* Evolve the supplier relationships on behalf of the organisation, ensuring that stakeholders are mapped and involved in all aspects throughout the contract lifecycle.
* Co-ordinate and track the development of value improvement activities, acting as the Project Management Office, to ensure that resources and outcomes are optimised.
* Develop your cross-directorate category knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of the end-to-end supply chains through working with commercial experts to support decision making.
* Influence cross-functionally across organisational boundaries to enable change.
What skills, qualifications and qualities do I need to be successful?
* Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
* Desirable: Professional qualification within procurement or supplier management disciplines or studying towards qualification (e.g. CIPS Level 6, ASCM CSCP).
* Experience of equivalent Procurement and Supply chain roles, with the commercial acumen to manage complex, often global, supplier organisations.
* A proven ability to manage Supplier Relationship Management Plans, ideally within an existing SRM formal programme structure, skilled in obtaining buy-in for SRM strategies and Supplier categorisation with key stakeholders.
* Demonstrable ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, and lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings.
* Excellent communication, facilitation and coaching skills – ideal for driving group discussions, idea generation, problem solving and consensus forming activities.
* Capacity to drive change whilst continuing to deliver business, team and personal objectives.
* High levels of energy to succeed with a strong, positive sense of purpose and commitment to excellence.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team across all levels of seniority with a strong knowledge of MS Office applications.
* Flexibility to travel as required to both our regional offices and to Supplier sites.
How you’ll work
Hybrid working; a blend of home and office working 2/3 days in the office and 2/3 days at home.
In return for your passion, enthusiasm, and hard work you will be rewarded with an attractive salary and benefits package, consisting of:
* Performance led annual bonus scheme.
* 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase up to an additional 5 days.
* Generous contributory pension scheme (up to 6% employee / 12% employer contributions of your base salary).
* Access to Flexible Benefits Scheme – you will be able to choose from a variety of benefits such as Life Insurance, Critical Illness Cover, Income Protection, Health Cash Plan, Dental Insurance and additional pension contributions that suit you.
* 2 days paid Volunteering Leave.
* Long Service Awards.
* Access to the Blue Light Card and NHS Discounts.
* Flexible working options.
* National Annual season ticket purchase scheme.
* Eye Care vouchers.
* Access to a free 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme.
