SEND Teacher of English (responsibility to lead dept.)

At Protocol Education we are currently looking for an experienced, resilient, and enthusiastic Teacher of English to work full time at a well-established SEND school just outside of Harrogate with easy access to the A1.
We require a SEND Teacher at a Good to outstanding setting. The role would be great for someone who has had enough of mainstream and is looking for a new challenge in a really supportive environment for both staff and students.
About the role:
Duties can include:
* Planning and delivering adaptable lessons to a wide range of pupils and abilities.
* Leading the delivery of English within the setting.
* Establishing a safe and stimulating learning environment.
* Teaching useful strategies that will aid the students in their out-of-school lives.
* Marking effectively to enable progression with students.
* Safeguarding of all students and staff.
* Assessment including Public examinations.
* 1-to-1 Intervention.
* Group intervention.
* Whole school work.
The ideal SEND Teacher will have:
* QTS/ECT.
* Experience teaching English with 2 to 3 years experience and aspirations to lead a department.
SEND Teacher experience:
* Build strong relationships.
* Be able to de-escalate behavioral needs safely and calmly.
* Experience teaching in mainstream secondary, SEND, pupil referral units, SEMH schools, SEND specific units.
* Plan, deliver, and mark a minimum of a good lesson.
* Be able to commute easily.
* Excellent behavior management skills and adapt to the schools or AP's ethos.
* (ADD, ADHD, ODD, CAMHS, Complex Needs, Behaviour Difficulties, Autism, or MLD.)
