Hastings Borough Council is seeking a Housing Options Officer to join our Housing Services team on a 6-month fixed-term basis. About the Role As a Housing Options Officer, you’ll work directly with individuals and families in housing need, helping to prevent homelessness and find practical housing solutions. Key responsibilities include: Providing advice and tailored support to clients facing housing challenges. Assisting clients in retaining current accommodation or accessing alternative options. Conducting housing assessments and maintaining detailed casework records. Building relationships with housing providers and key stakeholders to deliver effective solutions. You’ll be based at the Muriel Matters House, located in the heart of Hastings with excellent transport links and just a short walk from the seafront. Who We’re Looking For We’re looking for individuals who are motivated, compassionate, and eager to learn. This role is open to candidates from all backgrounds, including: Graduates with a degree or equivalent qualification, or those awaiting results. Individuals with strong communication, organisational, and IT skills. Those who can stay calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations with professionalism. Previous experience in housing, social care, or a related field is welcome but not essential.
