JOB TITLE: Management Accountant
LOCATION: Hospice
RESPONSIBLE TO: Finance Manager
SALARY : GBP35,000 FTE
28 Hours per week
JOB PURPOSE:
The Management Accountant will be responsible for the preparation, analysis, and distribution of comprehensive management accounts to the Management Team. The role also involves the timely production of financial information to support the preparation of financial accounts, budgeting, and strategic decision-making.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounts Receivable
Raise invoices and manage credit control.
Handle invoice queries efficiently.
Reconcile and import data from the EPOS system.
Produce weekly and monthly income reports.
Team Integration & Collaboration
Work closely with the Supporter Care Team to reconcile and integrate data from Raiser's Edge with the accounting system.
Liaise with the Catering Team, providing support for the maintenance and optimisation of the EPOS system.
Management Accounts
Perform timely reconciliations of bank and control accounts.
Maintain accurate financial and management records.
Prepare VAT returns in accordance with regulations.
Produce and distribute monthly departmental profit and loss reports for the Management Team.
Provide variance analysis, forecasting, and commentary to support financial reports and decision-making.
Prepare and maintain detailed project cost reports.
Budgeting
Lead the budgeting process, providing guidance and support to the Management Team
in the preparation of annual budgets.
Monitor and report on budget performance throughout the year.
Statutory Accounts
Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Support the preparation for the annual external audit, liaising with auditors as required.
Payroll Assistance
Provide support to the payroll function when necessary, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
General Finance Support
Contribute to the wider finance team s needs by undertaking any ad-hoc duties as required on either a short-term or long-term basis.
GENERAL
Be responsible for personal learning and development, keeping up to date with research, relevant legislation, policy and practice and other literature relevant to the role.
Participate in supervision, training and meetings as required, and assist in the development of services in line with agreed development plans.
