Wind Turbine Technician - Livingston
Salary: Up to £35,000 dependent on experience
Eden Scott are working with a leading Operations and Maintenance contractor to appoint a Wind Turbine Technician. The position is very well suited to someone with a technical bias (electrical or mechanical) who is currently working within an industrial setting on the operations and maintenance of plant equipment.
Our client is happy to pay for GWO certification and additional courses.
The Wind Turbine Technician will cover 6 different sites across Scotland and work as part of an extended team to ensure that the renewable energy assets are operating safely and efficiently.
Additional responsibilities will include:
1. Planning and managing site work schedules.
2. Conducting inductions and toolbox talks.
3. Maintaining good health and safety practice in general, including carrying out on-site ad hoc high-level H&S audits of 3rd party contractors.
4. Conducting regular general site inspections and maintaining records of condition, managing specialist contractors where required to conduct more detailed inspections.
5. Managing regular maintenance works to site equipment and infrastructure.
Requirements:
1. Experience in operations and maintenance of power plant or electrical equipment.
2. Formal training in health and safety and in the implementation of health and safety on operational sites.
3. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English.
4. Experience of producing accurate, succinct, and informative inspection reports, including photographic records.
5. Proficient use of Windows-based IT systems and basic office software such as emails (Outlook), word processing (Word), spreadsheets (Excel), and PowerPoint.
6. Effective time-management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
7. Full UK driving licence.
