Job Description
About our Academy
Chief Executive Officer: Lee Wilson
Principal: Mark Golden
We are a 11-16 academy based inthe market town of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, on the eastern edge of the Erewash Valley which separates Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. We became part of the Outwood Family of Schools in 2022 and are yet to be inspected by Ofsted.
We are a welcoming and supportive academy, with a relentless determination to provide the very best education for every child. We place students at the centre of everything we do, with a focus on creating a culture of success and a positive climate for learning.
We believe that learning should be both enjoyable and enriching. With a holistic view of education, we aim to create a safe and secure learning community that encourages healthy and sustainable lifestyles and empowers students to pursue career pathways they will find stimulating and deeply rewarding.
About the role -
Our internal alternative provision is an exciting development supporting student outcomes and interventions. The provision will be based around the philosophy of Inclusivity and equity, providing tailored support to students to help them engage in secondary education. It will allow the holistic development of students within its delivery, focussing on academic and emotional support as well as allowing students to develop life skills and experience personal growth. Early Intervention is fundamental to the philosophy of our internal alternative provision to help students understand and develop preventative techniques to help them cope with situations in secondary education, guiding them through this development in a supportive environment. The internal alternative provision will construct and deliver customised programmes for students, catering for the specific needs of the individual, to deliver flexible and responsive support packages along with adaptive learning to cater for the educational needs of the students involved. The provision has the overall aim of ensuring that students have the opportunity to integrate with the school community, with a key focus on ‘belonging’ to both the educational establishment and the process of achieving. This role creates an opportunity to work with the inclusion team and intervention teachers leading this area and delivering our curriculum.
As we continue to improve and progress, help to take us to the next level.
We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.
All academies within the Outwood Family have gained the IQM Inclusive Schools Award with 18 having Centre of Excellence status and one holding Flagship status.
