Head of Pricing | £75,000-£85,000 + Bonus | Hybrid/Bristol

This is a key and pivotal role, impacting the pricing strategy, product development, market position and ultimately profitability of this large successful group.
This role is high-profile and critical, offering considerable exposure as well as the opportunity to make a significant impact as you ensure technical pricing excellence across Consumer Markets.
This role holder will deputise for Director of Pricing, and have significant input across the Senior Leadership. You will help to foster a culture of sustainable adaptation and change based on expert market insight to deliver pricing transformation, best in class pricing practice and execution.
You will drive and develop the successful delivery of our portfolio pricing strategy, delivering our stated cost commitments and driving overall performance. This role really will give you the ability to make a substantial impact on success!
You will inherit and continue to enhance a high-performing portfolio pricing team who will provide expert analysis, identify opportunities and further develop commercial advantages in a growing and complex market. You will also support the Commercial team in developing the effectiveness of our products and market position.
You will be responsible for all Pricing related changes and how these are implemented and managed across the division.
Pricing is a complicated world, where data, geospatial information, market governance, risk management, and mathematical models meet talented analytics and modelling. Pricing our products is a fine line between balancing our business goals, delivering value, and meeting our customer needs.
You will have great interpersonal skills, strong data analytics and an understanding of risk and governance. They reduce risk and predict future events ensuring our business can continue to grow whilst every one of our consumers gets the best price.

You will be using your pricing and underwriting skills and experience to help us achieve the financial targets.
Key responsibilities:
* Delivery of price optimisation strategies designed to achieve business objectives
* Propose and deliver tactical changes to drive value or mitigate risk to plan
* Monitoring performance against plans, with deep dive activity in relation to performance anomalies as required
* Support financial planning process
* Support delivery of Pricing and cross functional Initiatives
* Make sure all deliverables are well governed and have all relevant controls in place
* Continuous improvement of processes
* Support in upskilling the junior members of the team and establishing pricing best practices in the team.
* Ensure adherence to regulation and governance
The Successful Candidate:
We are keen to meet enthusiastic, passionate, and curious individuals who can collaborate effectively across several teams and team members. They should also have
* Experience in Retail Pricing and Price Optimisation
* Strong understanding of the components of a pricing algorithms and application of underwriting rules
* Understanding of key legislation and regulation applying to insurance and how this impacts pricing algorithms, models, customer premiums and experience.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for problem solving
* Ability to communicate complex information in a simple way
* Experience of Radar, or alternative pricing software
* Experience of data manipulation and modelling
* Experience of statistical and mathematical techniques and proven experience of applying these effectively in Pricing
