Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Client: Groundworks, Frames, and Civil Engineering Contractor
Project: Running a portfolio worth £10m
Location: Kent
Salary: £80,000 - £115,000 + package

The company operates across multiple sectors, delivering projects of varying scales, from £2 million to £80 million, with an average project value of approximately £10 million.
With a structured and skilled Quantity Surveying team, the company effectively manages multi-million-pound projects while maintaining high standards in construction, engineering, and cost management.
Key Sectors & Projects
* Data Centres: Currently the company's most significant sector, with multiple ongoing and upcoming projects in this space, including Silvertown; a major development project contributing to the company's expanding portfolio.
* Newmarket Prison: A large-scale correctional facility project aimed at strengthening the infrastructure of the justice system.
* Rail Interconnector: A crucial infrastructure project enhancing energy connectivity and efficiency.
* Other Infrastructure Projects: They’re involved in multiple infrastructure schemes in and around the M25 corridor, reinforcing its presence in this high-demand sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the cost control and financial performance of the project
* Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
* Procure subcontractors, review tender submissions, and negotiate contract terms
* Monitor project progress, ensuring that costs align with project milestones and work completed
* Provide accurate and timely cost reporting to senior management, stakeholders, and clients
* Administer variations, contract changes, and ensure proper documentation and agreement
* Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
* Work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to resolve any financial issues or queries
* Conduct site visits to assess work progress and ensure quality control
What We Are Looking For:
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the construction or civil engineering sectors
* Solid understanding of JCT and NEC contracts, with a focus on managing variations and claims
* Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
* Experience with project cost control, budgets, and financial reporting
* A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred
