The Public Health IntelligenceAnalyst will contribute to the health intelligence function withinthe specialist public health service. This function is pivotal toeffective public health. The postholder will support thedevelopment of public health and population health managementapproaches within the emerging integrated care system working inpartnership with council and NHS intelligence functions providingtimely analysis evaluation and intelligence to support collectiveplanning anddelivery.
Specialist knowledge and experience of public health statisticaltechniques and procedures, acquired through undergraduatequalification or equivalent experience. A postgraduatequalification in a numerate or data/computer science subject, orpublic health. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professionaldevelopment. Knowledge of public health intelligence and analysis.Knowledge of population health data sources such as vitalstatistics, clinical data, demographics, wider determinants, andreference data, and their limitations. Practical experience ofaccessing, appraising, and manipulating complex datasets. Knowledgeof public health analytical techniques relating to comparingpopulations and expressing uncertainty and significance. Excellentanalytical skills and experience of utilising multiple sources ofinformation to provide specialist population health data analysis,interpretation and presentation, utilising spreadsheets, maps, andanalytical tools. Proven experience of working cooperatively with arange of both internal and external stakeholders. Working knowledgeof at least one dashboard software package (Tableau, Power BIetc.). Experience of adhering to strict data security andconfidentiality standards. Ability to work within teams within aflexible work environment Ability to effectively prioritise aportfolio of delegated tasks. Working knowledge of at least onedatabase querying or statistical programming language (SQL, R, SPSSetc.). Knowledge of commissioning processes, from strategy andpolicy development, intervention design, procurement to performancemanagement and evaluation. Working to level 5 in the Skills forHealth Career Framework for Public Health.
