The Company We are very proud to be working with an industry leading and ultra-respected Design and Build company who are due to expansion seeking to recruit a talented SENIOR TECHNICAL DESIGNER to join their highly dynamic & creative team. As a SENIOR TECHNICAL DESIGNER, the general purpose of the role is to integrate and work alongside key members of the design team in delivering high quality architectural production drawings / information for both costing and construction purposes from project inception to completion. The role will require the individual to take a degree of ownership for individual projects and be able to produce detailed information to the required level in a timely manner. Expected to attend site meetings to co‐ordinate and resolve any technical issues at various stages of the implementation process. A sense of pride in the production of accurate information is required with all drawings / documentation reflecting the current business methodology. The successful candidate will be encouraged to contribute to the continual improvements being made within the team and in particular ways in which our information is produced. Key Accountabilities Produce comprehensive drawing packages. Undertake detailed site surveys as required. Liaise with local authorities (planning & building control etc). Attend site / project meetings & build relationships with clients / contractors. Prepare architectural tender / construction information. Design coordination (M&E etc) and buildability reviews. Value engineering. Professional Skills & Experience Fully proficient in latest version of AutoCAD Architecture. Good Revit / BIM experience. Working knowledge of M & E coordination. Experience in document management. CIAT member. Commercial awareness and understanding of cost implications of changes all round. Very good knowledge of planning / building control issues / regulations. Min 5‐10 years’ experience in a commercial office interiors sector in a similar role, ideally within the Design & Build sector. Laboratory design experience would also be highly advantageous however not essential. Ability to build & maintain relationships, internally and externally.
