Product Owner (SaaS) - Manchester
As a Product Owner, you will manage the product backlog, ensuring it is carefully managed and prioritised in line with business objectives. You will collaborate closely with the Product Manager to translate their vision into tasks for the development and business analysis teams. A strong understanding of customer needs and market trends will be crucial, allowing you to deliver product enhancements that align with the roadmap.
In this role, you’ll act as a critical liaison between the technical teams and stakeholders, answering product-related queries and ensuring everyone understands the value of new features. Your ability to communicate clearly and manage competing priorities will be essential for success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Agile Experience: Manage and prioritise the product backlog in an Agile or Scrum environment, ensuring capacity planning aligns with project goals.
2. Backlog Management: Regularly refine and prioritise the backlog based on business value and user feedback, ensuring the development team is always working on the most valuable tasks.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration: Gather requirements from internal stakeholders and effectively translate them into actionable development tasks.
4. Technical Awareness: Work closely with developers to understand technical constraints and ensure the product remains robust and scalable.
5. Customer Focus: Advocate for end-users by ensuring the product delivers real value and remains aligned with customer needs.
6. Problem Solving: Resolve conflicts, clarify priorities, and make swift decisions to maintain team momentum.
7. Quality Control: Review and accept completed work, ensuring it meets the highest standards and aligns with product goals.
Skills and Experience:
1. Proven experience in a Scrum or Agile environment, with a solid understanding of managing product backlogs.
2. Experience of working in a SaaS organisation.
3. Excellent ability to translate business requirements into development-ready tasks.
4. Strong communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships and technical conversations.
5. A natural problem-solver with the ability to prioritise under pressure.
6. Confident in managing workloads and ensuring deadlines are met.
