Job Title: Packhouse Operative Reporting to: Packhouse Production Supervisor Hours: 5 days in a 7-day week Key Aim of the Role: To ensure the efficient and effective running of the packhouse machinery and processes to fulfil the orders generated by customers. To ensure all safety & hygiene protocols are followed and that finished product matches customer specifications. Main Duties & Responsibilities: Ensure adherence to company health and safety rules. Operate all machinery in a manner that aligns to company SOP's and training received. Ensure that all work completed meets procedures laid out regarding Quality and Food Safety standards. Work effectively as part of a team. To communicate effectively with colleagues and site management team. To lead the line team and motivate staff to deliver the best possible results. Perform all duties in a professional manner. To be flexible with hours of work and working patterns, especially in peak periods. Operational: To ensure all tasks are carried out within the confines of strict standard operating procedures. To ensure all orders are packed within the time constraints while maintaining quality standards. Ensure all packed product meets with customer specifications. To notify the Production Supervisor or Operations Director of any possible problems or of any concerns regarding production or staff. To actively pursue on the job training to reach full potential. Ensure fruit is used in strict rotation of harvest date / quality unless otherwise instructed. To ensure strict label and paperwork processes are always adhered to. To actively pursue process improvements and cost saving initiatives. To understand and adhere to all company policies relating to the packing of customer products. To fulfil any other reasonable requests within your capabilities. Key Performance Indicators: To actively manage and control daily labour usage, with the mindset of being more efficient every day. Ensuring quality is always at the heart of the process, by contributing to the delivery of the businesses targeted quality service level of 99.9% To ensure as is reasonably practicable that customer service level meets or exceeds the business target 99.95% on time, in full.
