A primary school based in Northampton is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to provide effective 1:1 support to work for a pupil with Autism. This is a full time role with the view of a permanent contract for the right person.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work on a one-to-one basis with the child, providing tailored support in lessons, during transitions, and in social situations.
* Assist in implementing the child's EHCP and any specific behavioral or learning strategies.
* Support the child's engagement in classroom activities, helping them to stay focused and manage any challenges.
* Encourage the development of social, communication, and life skills in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCo.
* Monitor and report progress, identifying any areas where additional support may be needed.
* Foster a positive and trusting relationship with the child, promoting self-confidence and emotional well-being.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCo, and parents/carers to provide consistent and coordinated support.
Requirements:
* A genuine passion for supporting individuals with Autism.
* Experience within a UK primary school with up to date knowledge on the primary curriculum.
* Experience working with individuals with Autism.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
* Ability to work collaboratively with families and professionals.
