We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to a Gentleman who has Motor Neurone Disease in the Stockport area (SK4).
This role is vital in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our client, enabling them to maintain their independence in a home setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help others.
You must hold a valid UK Driving License for this role.
Duties:
- Assist client with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Support client with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
- Maintain accurate care plans and documentation of client progress.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities.
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Skills
- Experience in a care home or home care setting is highly desirable.
- Previous skills with PEG and Medication Administration.
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written, to effectively communicate with clients and team members.
- Ability to understand and implement care plans tailored to individual client needs.
- Strong IT skills for maintaining records and using electronic health systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their families.
