Do you have a sense of adventure and enjoy being out and about in nature? This job could be ideal for you…
You’ll be working on land surveys or underground utility surveys, using drill rigs to construct boreholes and water wells, and taking soil and water samples.
At times, you could be in the office at 6:30 am, then driving a couple of hours to the site, where it's cold and raining. So if you’re looking for a 9-5 job in a warm office, then this isn’t for you (though you will also be in the office a lot of the time). But if you love being outdoors, then this is for you.
There will be projects to manage, and you’ll be dealing directly with clients.
You’ll be able to use your problem-solving skills and will have plenty of scientific data to work with and interpret.
You will gain experience in site investigation and remediation techniques.
It’s a great opportunity to develop your career in the geotechnical engineering and contaminated land sector.
The business is an innovative consultancy providing a 'cradle to grave' Brownfield development service. They do most things related to the ground.
It’s a ‘can do’ business, with the expertise of a large company, but the personal touch of a small one.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
Other graduates have done well in the business, so they know what you’ll need. You’ll receive training in anything you haven’t done. When you’re ready, you’ll be given the opportunity to manage your own work and will have limited supervision.
Going forward, continued professional development is encouraged at all levels. You’ll receive a generous training budget to help with this.
WHERE YOU’LL BE BASED
The office is near Aylesbury, in Buckinghamshire, commutable from areas including Watford, Oxford, Luton, and Milton Keynes.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Your degree should have some relevance, for example, Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Management, Environmental Diagnostics, Scientific, Environmental Engineering, or Geography.
You will also need to have a full, clean UK driving licence as you’ll be travelling to sites across the UK. However, if you are learning to drive but haven't got your licence yet, that may be acceptable.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
Send your CV as soon as possible. If you look like a good match, we will discuss the role and business further, and how it may align with what you are looking for.
