As a Business and Compliance Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the practice's smooth business operations and compliance with healthcare regulations. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to influence key operational processes and contribute to the overall efficiency of our practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in the NHS, particularly within general practice settings, and a thorough understanding of relevant processes and regulations.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
Business Operations & Compliance Management:
* GP Contract Variations: Implement necessary contract adjustments and communicate updates to relevant staff.
* Policies & Procedures: Draft and update practice policies to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
* Service Delivery: Ensure services meet regulatory standards and patient expectations.
* CQC Oversight: Lead the preparation for CQC inspections and ensure continuous compliance.
* Complaints Management: Handle patient and staff complaints, ensuring resolution is timely and effective.
Team & Communication Management:
* TeamNet Management: Oversee communication and document sharing via TeamNet within the practice.
* Team Building: Plan and execute team-building initiatives to enhance collaboration and morale.
* Social Media & Online Presence: Manage and expand the practice's social media profiles (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), ensuring alignment with practice policies and regulations.
* Website Management: Regularly update the practice's website to keep it current and compliant with regulatory standards.
Technology Innovation & Expansion:
* Driving Innovation: Lead the adoption of new technologies that improve efficiency, patient care, and practice operations.
* Technology Integration: Expand the use of digital tools within the practice to improve patient experience.
* Expanding Social Media Use: Develop strategies to expand the practice's use of social media resources.
General Practice Support & Operations:
* Parking Management: Oversee staff parking permits and compliance with practice policies.
* General Support: Provide assistance in other areas of the practice as needed.
* Operations Manager Cover: Provide cover for the Operations Manager during absence, ensuring continuity.
* Project Leadership: Lead and manage new projects within the practice to drive innovation and efficiency.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in business or practice management, ideally within an NHS or general practice setting.
* Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and general practice operations.
* Familiarity with NHS processes, including GP contracts and PCN management.
* Exceptional organisational and time-management skills.
* Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills for engaging with staff, patients, and external partners.
* Experience in policy and procedure writing is highly desirable.
* Proficient with IT systems, including TeamNet, website management tools, and office software (MS Office).
