We are open to full time and part time hours - will involve weekends on a rota basis
To facilitate Safe Harbour provision in Woking. This is a six-week referral only non-clinicalservice from 9am 6pm seven days per week for those aged 18 plus.
The aim ofthe Safe Harbour is to provide service users with a programme of support andpsycho-social education tailored around an individuals circumstances and needsas identified on their support plan which:
Reduces the frequency andseverity of mental health crises these users may experience; and
Provides them with alternativestrategies for de-escalation when they do reach crisis.
Experience of group work and working with this client group is essential
Main duties of the job
Provide support to clientsattending the Safe Harbour both in personand virtually on site, and in thecommunity
Utilise a range of appropriate skills such as, but not necessarily limited to,active listening, motivational interviewing, andcognitive behavioural techniques
Designand deliver planned and ad hoc one-to-one and group interventions as part of asix-week rolling wellness programme
Inductclients and create collaborative and individualised care plans and facilitatethe setting of SMART goals

Key Activities:
Provide support to clientsattending the Safe Harbour both in personand virtually on site, and in thecommunity
Utilise a range of appropriate skills such as, but not necessarily limited to,active listening, motivational interviewing, andcognitive behavioral techniques
Designand deliver planned and ad hoc one-to-one and group interventions as part of asix-week rolling wellness programme

Respondto referrals within 48 hours and keep electronic attendance and participationrecords and complete discharge reports
Work within GDPR and Information Governance guidelines to ensureconfidentiality is maintained
Assistclients in de-escalating and managing impulsivity, intense emotions andrelationship difficulties
Create safety plans for those experiencing thoughts of self-harm, suicideand other risk-taking urges
Risk assess clients attending in acute mentalhealth crisis and contact relevant parties such as the Community Mental HealthRecovery Service (CMHRS) and the Single Point of Access (SPA)
Provide a continual assessment of a personsneeds regarding their mental health
Seekadvice and guidance from the Senior Worker and/or Service Manager asappropriate
FollowCatalyst Support incident reporting procedure and complete incident forms
Work proactively with partneragency staff to ensure continuity of care
Maintain an honest, robust,person centered and caring approachto the client group
Attend external and internalmeetings as requiredand as appropriate for the role
Signpost clients to internal and external methodsof support and make onward referrals
Take part in ongoingtraining and development
Communicate confidently and effectively, verballyand in writing

2. Robust professional boundaries
3. Experience working in mental health field
4. Sound working knowledge of Safeguarding legislation
5. Experience delivering person centred interventions relating to mental health
Desirable
6. Knowledge and usage of a trauma informed approach (although training can be given)
7. Knowledge and/or experience of co-production - planning/designing/delivering and reviewing interventions with those with lived experience
