The Council's Housing, Customer and Building Services is recruiting a Business Analyst to provide business analysis, financial planning and forecasting, budget monitoring, and financial reporting support to the Head of Service and senior managers across the Service.
The postholder will report directly to the Head of Service and will require a high level of business analysis and financial monitoring expertise, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with senior managers across the service, other Chief Officers, and the Finance Management Unit.
The role requires knowledge of corporate and service issues, as well as consideration of wider environmental and political factors. The postholder will be expected to set and meet high-quality performance standards and continually strive to surpass these standards.
The postholder will be required to contribute proactively and use their initiative to progress the analysis of business and financial data to identify short and long-term service improvement activities. They may also be involved in several cross-cutting exercises outside their immediate area of responsibility.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Educated to degree level in a relevant business or financial discipline.
2. Good planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
3. Strong written and oral communication skills.
4. Proficient IT skills, including the ability to use spreadsheets and computerised accounting packages.
