SF Recruitment are delighted to be working alongside a highly successful PE backed business based in Birmingham. As a result of growth, they are currently on the lookout for a hard working, self motivated Assistant Management Accountant. This new role is to support the Finance Manager with the day to day running of the finance function and requires someone not afraid to get their hands dirty in a varied role.
This will suit someone with strong all round finance experience who has previously been involved with producing management accounts, as well as the ability to cover in other areas of finance on an ad hoc basis. Although based in Birmingham, the successful individual will be able to work from home 2 days a week following successful bedding in period.
Role:
1. Preparing and posting month end journals
2. Reconciliation of bank accounts
3. Balance sheet reconciliations
4. Assisting with preparation of month end management accounts for multiple entities
5. Identifying variances, and analysing trends
6. Monthly & Quarterly VAT returns
7. Prepayments and Accruals
8. Reconciliation with costing reports
9. Assist with Budget and forecasting
10. Assisting with purchase ledger when required
11. Identify areas for process improvements
12. Ad-hoc duties, reporting and analysis
Requirements:
1. Strong work ethic and be a self starter
2. Ability to work well as part of a team and be a team player
3. Experience within a hands on role in finance
4. Experience with process improvements / implementations desirable
5. Experience with Sage packages
6. Strong Excel skills
7. AAT Qualified / Studying Towards ACCA/CIMA or Qualified by Experience
