Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SABP) is building a new Mental Health Inpatient Service in Chertsey, Surrey. Silverwood will contain four adult inpatient wards and is due to open in Spring 2025. Our ambition is to transform inpatient mental healthcare for our local population. The new unit will provide 64 beds all with single ensuite bedrooms, two lounges and a dedicated garden for each ward, as well as a woodland area for supervised walks. For our colleagues working here, there will be access to kitchenettes, a lounge, and a dedicated garden. There will also be an education suite with state-of-the-art digital equipment.
Our offer:
Salary: NHS Specialty Grade £59,195 - £95,400 + £149 fringe, + on-call payments
GMC Sponsorship
Relocation allowance: up to £8000 *subject to policy requirements

The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, formulation, and review of management plans for service users. Flexible review and reassess service users to assess their response to treatment and their readiness to access other parts of Acute Care Pathway.
It is expected that the Specialty Doctor would support any trainees attached to the team. All the work of the Specialty Doctor will be under the supervision of the consultant psychiatrist.
The Specialty Doctor will also be expected to show an interest in developing a wide range of psychiatric skills, including group work, maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the latest psychotropic medication and a basic competency in neurology.
Attend Care Programme Approach & Section 117 meetings & mental health review tribunals.
