Operations Manager
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience
Location: Welham Green, Fixed Location
Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional individual with experience in builders' merchants to join our client as an Operations Manager. As a key member of their management team, you will work closely with the Commercial Manager to develop and grow their overall operations at the Welham Green depot. This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including Purchasing and Stock Management, Warehouse and Yard operations, Transport operations, and Health and Safety compliance.
Ideal Candidate:
* Proven experience in operational management within the builders' merchants sector
* Exceptional people management skills, with a strong focus on customer service
* Strong financial awareness and day-to-day financial management capabilities
* Ability to effectively manage change and drive operational improvements
* A proactive approach to health and safety best practices
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* A collaborative mindset with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage process and operational excellence to optimise customer satisfaction
* Deliver process and operational improvements to enhance efficiency across the business
* Lead teams in implementing health and safety best practices
* Increase productivity throughout all operational areas, from receiving goods to fulfilling customer orders
* Develop and manage a skilled team that meets both company objectives and personal goals
* Ensure effective financial control systems are in place to support overall business objectives
* Plan and deliver training for staff to foster continuous professional development
