Management Accountant Opportunity - SME Location: Flexible core hours in Nottingham area Salary: FTE £38,138 £3,000 on promotion to managerial level As a Management Accountant, you will work closely with the Head of Finance and a small, tight-knit team to handle month-end processes, payroll, HR support, and project-based improvements. This is a diverse role, ideal for someone who thrives on variety and enjoys stepping outside traditional finance responsibilities. Your Responsibilities Month-End Duties Prepare accruals and prepayments. Manage the fixed asset register, including depreciation and annual audit preparation. Assist with the production of Esprit France accounts. Oversee machine sale invoicing, control customer deposits, and maintain the machine order book for Senior Management. Outside of Month-End Update prices in the French accounting system annually. Handle machine sale stage invoices and payment follow-ups. Attend weekly production meetings. Support queries on the annual audit. Manage non-standard AP payments (e.g., HMRC, VAT, Euro suppliers). Create delivery paperwork/commercial invoices for machine sales. Provide holiday cover across the finance team. Reconcile service and software customer contracts monthly. Payroll & HR Support Assist the Head of Finance with monthly payroll processes. Set up employees on Datafile and liaise with the HR Partner platform as a secondary contact. Projects & Process Improvements Work on process improvement projects with the Head of Finance. Support accounts payable/receivable queries. What We're Looking For Part-Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW) Proficiency in Excel and other MS applications. Confident and proactive personality to thrive in a less structured SME setting. Willingness to get involved in tasks beyond finance, from arranging team events to supporting cross-functional projects. Bonus Experience (Preferred but not required): SME experience with adaptability to small teams. What's on Offer? Salary: Starting at £32,179 for 33.75 hours/week (Full-Time Equivalent £38,138). Additional £3,000 upon promotion to managerial level. Bonus: Business performance-related (April payout). Benefits: Life Insurance (2x basic salary). Nest Pension: 5% employee, 3% employer.
