Location: Barnsley Salary: £50,000 - £55,000Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where every day brings a new challenge?An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a rapidly growing energy company who is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inventory Manager to join their Operations Team based at Barnsley Warehouse & Storage Facility, reporting to the Head of Asset Management.Responsible for managing inventory for the companies growing fleet of reciprocating gas engines, managing and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Duties to Include: Ensuring levels of inventory for all engine groups are maintained to agreed levels. Allocating parts from inventory to operational sites upon request from the Operations Team. Financial control of stock at the main stores and site stores. Ordering parts directly from suppliers upon request from the Operations Team, if required urgently when parts are required for breakdowns preventing assets from operating. Liaison with other parts of the business including the Finance Team, Technical Service Team Store Operative and Head Office Admin Teams. Assisting in the development and ongoing management of Inventory within the company’s CMMS (EAM). Travel to operational sites from time to time as required to fulfil the requirements of the role. Key Responsibilities: Process and fulfil urgent parts and material requests to support critical repairs. Oversee inventory management, ensuring stock levels are maintained and tracked. Work closely with engineers, area managers and suppliers to coordinate shipments. Conduct stock checks, reconcile movements and ensure accurate financial reporting. Identify and address stock shortages while optimising inventory levels. Ensure strict adherence to health & safety policies in all operations. Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and suppliers. Detail oriented and highly organised with the ability to multitask. Experience in stock management, inventory systems or purchasing (EAM experience is a plus). Principal Skills Extensive experience in stock control, purchasing, dealing with internal customers & external suppliers. Extensive experience of stock take processes. Excellent communication skills both written & verbal. Computer literate with knowledge of stock control software. The ability to work individually and as part of a team. Driving license and ability to travel Essential Key Skills: Detailed understanding of Stock control systems.Computer literate, basic working knowledge of stock control software.Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Office.Experience of accounting and stock control systems.Administration experience in a purchasing, stock control, engineering.Educated to degree/HNC level or equivalent or qualified by experience in a similar role.Current full driving licence.Engineering in a power generation or gas reciprocating engine discipline is a desirable Benefits: Discretionary performance-based bonus. 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
