Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Supervisor to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our automotive parts manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising production staff, ensuring that manufacturing goals are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and a focus on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise, direct, and coordinate daily activities of the production team to meet production targets and deadlines.
2. Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards.
3. Conduct regular inspections of equipment, materials, and finished products to ensure quality standards are maintained.
4. Provide leadership and coaching to production employees to foster a positive, productive, and safety-conscious work environment.
5. Oversee the training and development of team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
6. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Quality Control, Maintenance, and Supply Chain) to address any production-related issues.
7. Manage production schedules to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers.
8. Ensure adherence to lean manufacturing principles, reducing waste and improving efficiency.
9. Analyze production data and provide regular reports to upper management on production performance, including downtime, production output, and quality metrics.
10. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
11. Enforce company policies, safety regulations, and OSHA standards in the workplace.
12. Maintain effective communication within the team and across departments to ensure alignment with company goals.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field is a plus).
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive parts industry.
3. Proven leadership skills with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team leader role.
4. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and equipment used in automotive parts production.
5. Knowledge of quality control principles and industry standards.
6. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives.
7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
8. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and production management software (ERP systems).
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to stand for long periods, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
2. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and other typical factory conditions.
