Temporary Business Support Assistant/Admin

Pay Rate: £12.38 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3-4 months
City: City of Bristol
The purpose of the role is to provide efficient business support to support internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to a range of business support services for one or more service areas.
2. Respond to enquiries from internal and external customers and stakeholders, resolving routine matters at the point of contact.
3. Carry out administrative and financial transactions.
4. Prepare and provide documentation and information within guidelines.
5. Ensure that all work is carried out within local guidance and legislation.
6. Contribute to process improvements.
7. Demonstrate the council’s values: Dedicated, Respect, Ownership, Curious, Collaborative.
8. Communicate effectively with colleagues, internal customers and external agencies. May involve direct contact with citizens of Bristol.
9. Work may occasionally involve direct contact with difficult customers (prior to escalation).
10. Complete work that will be routine, allocated and supervised and with minimal discretion.
Qualifications:
1. Relevant level 2 qualification e.g. NVQ level 2, BTEC, relevant GCSEs etc. and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and understanding through experience.
Skills & Experience:
1. Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
2. Experience of working in an office-based environment.
3. Understanding of systems, procedures and regulations.
4. Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise own time and workload.
5. Ability to understand and to follow instructions and guidelines and to solve problems in own work area.
6. Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
