The Knowledge Media Institute (KMi) invites applications for a full-time or part-time PhD studentship starting on 1st October 2025. Project proposals are sought in the following research areas:
* Blockchains and Decentralised Systems
* Computational Social Science
* Data Science and Extended Intelligence
* New Media in Society
* Responsible Artificial Intelligence

The full-time studentship is for three years and covers fees, a stipend (£19,237 per year), and an annual research allowance of £1,100. The successful candidate will be based at The Open University’s campus in Milton Keynes, which combines a friendly and flexible working environment with exceptional research and computing facilities.
