About the role: Role – Reception Class Teaching Assistant Start Date – January 2025 End Date – July 2025 Working Hours – Monday to Friday (8:30-3:30) Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity to work in a Primary School based in Cardiff? Teaching Personnel would love to hear from you The school is based in Cardiff, and they are looking for a teaching assistant to work in their reception class as a general teaching assistant starting in January 2025. You will be joining a welcoming and supportive team of staff, who are determined and enthusiastic to create a positive learning environment for the children. The school will provide continuous support and feedback and will be open to hearing new ideas and techniques. Good communication skills are essential, and the ability to complete intervention work with small groups of children to help with literacy and numeracy skills. Main duties and responsibilities: Supporting the children with classwork and activities in a group setting or individual basis Assisting the teacher with preparation of materials and resources needed for lessons Ability to create a safe and inclusive learning environment Provide supervision to the children during the day and break times Ideal Candidate Requirements: Good communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and good organisational skills Desire to support children and assist with their learning and development Experience with children in a professional or personal setting Essential Criteria: Enhanced Child Only DBS Certificate (your Teaching Personnel consultant can help with this) Register with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) Be able to provide professional based references Benefits of working with Teaching Personnel: You will be in regular contact with a personal consultant, who can answer any questions you may have and support you throughout your time working with us.
