Location: This role could be based in either our London or Edinburgh offices with time spent working in the office and at home.

The role
Reporting into the Senior Strategic Forecasting Manager, the Finance Analyst will be responsible for helping to build and own the monthly forecast process, challenging and analysing the latest forecast, and supporting the presentation of key messages to senior stakeholders.
An important part of the job is working closely with key stakeholders to support Phoenix’s strategic objectives so strong stakeholder management skills are essential. You will be a strong team player who works collaboratively, challenges positively, and communicates effectively.
Key Responsibilities
1. To contribute to the production of high quality, timely monthly financial forecast management information
2. Assist in the development and setting up of monthly rolling forecast process
3. Analyse and interpret key financial metrics and trends versus plan
4. To support the implementation of improvements in the processes and controls
5. Proactively engage other members of the team and the department to establish, manage and improve processes
6. Ensure a high quality of content and consistent presentation across all reports issued by the team
7. To contribute to Group Finance Planning & Forecasting workstreams when necessary
What are we looking for?
8. An analytical mindset with an interest in financial forecasting
9. Proficiency in analysing financial data to identify trends, performance and opportunities for improvements
10. A part qualified Actuary / Accountant (or equivalent experience)
11. Experience in building relationships and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders
12. Understanding of technical regulatory requirements, reporting and accounting knowledge of life companies. Experience of solvency or IFRS17 metrics (ideal)
