Job Description Azure Cloud Consultant Salary: £100k Location: Wigan (Hybrid working) Responsibilities Cloud architecture: Designing and optimizing cloud architectures to ensure they are reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient Infrastructure optimisation: Analysing infrastructure resources to identify opportunities for cost optimizations and performance improvement Migration planning: Leading cloud and datacentre migration initiatives by assessing existing systems and developing migration roadmaps Cloud strategy: Developing and implementing cloud strategies that are aligned with business objectives Cloud security: Ensuring the security and compliance of cloud environments Cloud support: Providing ongoing support and maintenance for cloud systems Documentation: Creating and maintaining detailed documentation and reports Mentorship: Guiding and mentoring junior engineers Industry research: Conducting research on the latest cloud-based applications for different organisations Client education: Educating clients about updates to their existing cloud-based applications Collaboration: Collaborating with IT teams, computer engineers, administrators, and other cloud consultants Technical Skills: Azure Services: Deep understanding of Azure services including but not limited to Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, and Azure Networking. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with IaC tools such as Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Bicep. Networking: Strong knowledge of cloud networking concepts, including Virtual Networks (VNet), VPN, ExpressRoute, and network security. Security: Expertise in Azure Security Center, Azure Active Directory (AAD/EntraID), identity management, and compliance. Automation: Proficiency with automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python. Architecture Design: Experience in designing scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems using Azure architecture best practices. On-Prem Services: A strong knowledge or logically have the capability to support customers in modernising their on premise solutions into the public cloud. Soft Skills: Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex issues. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with other architects, engineers, and business stakeholders.
