Immediate start available From £720 Bonus weekly DOE Our Technicians are responsible for the service, maintenance and repairing of vehicles placed under their care. You will be responsible for identifying existing faults and detecting potential defects that could arise after further mileage. Technician day-to-day duties/responsibilities: Undertake maintenance, service and repair activities on motor vehicles of all types to the highest standard to meet company and franchise requirements. Repair diagnosed vehicles, replace parts, lubricants and consumables. Using computer software to measure, test, diagnose defects in the vehicle. Selecting appropriate parts for vehicle repairs. Fitting new parts and repairing damaged or worn-out parts. Road testing vehicles before and after repairs. Evaluating costs and giving price estimates to customers for repairs. Updating vehicle log books and providing appropriate paperwork to customers. Work in a safe and professional manor, operating to health and safety standards of the automotive industry. Record all service and repair operations as required by the company and the manufacturer. About you: Automotive Technicians need a keen interest in cars, motor innovation and other vehicles at a personal level. Drive towards continuous learning and staying updated with new automotive technologies, advancements and trends. Customers Services experience is desirable as you will be liaising with customers daily to establish the problem in the vehicle including excellent. Practical and observational skills to determine vehicle faults. Experience working with vehicles in a practical setting, such as a garage or a test centre. A thorough understanding of the mechanical and electrical processes that power modern vehicles. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in completing mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks as well as electrical issues. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong time management and organisational skills. Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines. Desire to continuous learn and stay updated on new automotive technologies and advancements (CPD continuing development programme) Skills: Able to identify additional work and maintenance requirements on vehicles using an established EVHC process. Have strong mechanical background and relevant practical training. Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components. Extensive knowledge of internal combustion engines, such as inline, V6, v8, v10 and v12. Possess car mechanic skills, such as changing the oil or checking disc and drum brakes. Excellent knowledge of car designs and brands. Extensive experience of mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment. Mathematical skills in a practical environment. UK driving license. Essential Requirements: NVQ level 3 (or equivalent)/Qualification NVQs/SVQs in Vehicle Maintenance (Service Replacement) Levels 1 and 2. Previous experience working in automotive environment. Clean UK driving license. You will be expected to be a member of the Institute of the Motor Industry during your period of employment in order to carry out the necessary continued professional development relevant for your role (CPD) and you are expected to carry out a minimum of 50 credits. Desired Requirements: Ideally hold a valid MOT testing qualification Level 3 or equivalent. Requires strong foundations in maths and science subjects at GCSE level. Speciality requirements: Hybrid, fully electric vehicle knowledge.
