As a Skilled Fitter, you will assemble Turbo and Screw Compressor packages to GA, PID and Engineering Specification. You will set up, align & fit large engineered components to bespoke designed engineered packages and assist in test set up of Turbo Compressors/Screw compressor Packages. Hydro test machined components as well as flushing complete pipework systems in accordance with all Inspection & Test Plans.
What Needs To Be Done?
* Assemble blowers and Screw Compressors to Engineering Drawings and Specifications.
* Adhere to relevant instructions contained within WSI’s on the assembly of blowers and Screw Compressors to ensure that each compressor is built to specific standards.
* Conform to all aspects of HCO Quality Management system including the fulfilment of all relevant procedures, including all WSIs to ensure conformance to international standards.
* Deliver quality product in a timely manner whilst contributing to efficient and effective manufacturing principles to ensure compliance with cost forecasts.
* Contribute & comply with accurate collation of Shop Floor documentation information to ensure compliance to internal and external requirements.
* Provide training support for Apprentices and work colleagues to ensure appropriate skill transfer. Interact & respond to all aspects of HBE supporting cost reduction, efficiency, delivery and Quality improvements.
* Ensure adherence to company environmental, health and safety standards in compliance with company policies to ensure a safe working environment and the minimisation of environmental impact.
* Dispose of all waste in accordance with site waste segregation requirements.
What Do You Need To Bring?
Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours:
* Recognised Engineering apprenticeship and relevant qualifications.
* Engineering Drawing interpretation ability.
* P&ID Drawing Interpretation ability.
* Previous experience in shaft to shaft alignment.
* Previous experience of precision manufacturing & assembly.
* Rotating Equipment experience, including balancing and high speed gearbox assemblies.
* Lean Manufacturing skills.
* Lifting & Slinging and forklift certification.
* Previous experience in rotating equipment.
* General Environmental Health & Safety awareness.

* A competitive salary of £33,500, with the opportunity to earn shift allowance with the team currently operating a three-shift rotating structure with a rate of x1.33, consisting of early shift (6am-2pm), back shift (2pm-10pm) and night shift (10pm-6am), Sunday Night - Friday Early. Additional overtime available out with the standard shift pattern (All overtime at 1.5).
