GSL Education Southampton Branch are pleased to introduce an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant at a warm and inclusive school in Romsey!
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, providing personalised assistance to help them thrive in their learning environment.
Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, helping them engage with the curriculum effectively.
* Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
* Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
* Monitor and record student progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents to aid in their development.
* Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social, emotional, and academic growth.
Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Proven experience working with children with SEN.
* Strong understanding of SEN best practices and legal requirements.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
* Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting all students.
* Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
