An exciting full time opportunity, however we are pleased to consider part time working requests (minimum 30 hours per week). We need you to assist our customers who have been placed in temporary accommodation to maintain their tenancy and provide support and advice to enable them to move on to more suitable long-term accommodation. You'll focus on providing needs-based advice and practical assist ance on taking up a new tenancy along with advice on how to budget effectively and access appropriate welfare benefits. You'll carry out regular visits and inspections to ensure our customers are looking after the ir property and assist with reporting repairs where necessary. You'll engage with households in temporary accommodation and our Fare l ets private rented scheme, to assess individual needs and make referrals to statutor y and voluntary agencies. You' ll provide a dvice to our customers with claims against welfare benefi t refusals and/or withdrawals and work with Charities and Trusts to obtain funding to assist with hardship and reduce debts. About You You'll need a good working knowledge of homelessness and housing law; landlord tenant responsibilities and welfare benefits. Excellent communication skills are essential as you'll need to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers. You must be able to prioritise your workload. A full driving licenc e is essential to be able to visit properties and customers across the Borough. You will need access to secure databases and systems so any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory BASIC DBS check for the successful candidate.
