The Client
Our Client supplies bespoke joinery to the commercial, leisure, healthcare, education, and fit-out sectors. They design, manufacture, and install internal bespoke joinery and acoustic panelling as well as a range of fire-rated and specialist doorsets.
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-growing construction sub-contractor based in Stoke. The role is an Accounts Assistant, but you will also be expected to help out in other areas of the business including document control and obtaining security clearances.
To provide support to the finance department in the provision of daily, weekly, and monthly accounting information within appropriate deadlines. You will work on projects investigating the administration, control, and financial impact of key operational activities. Additionally, you will take ownership of the production and reviewing of concept costings for the Craigavon Site and assist with other factory accounting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Help with all accounts including payment runs and bank reconciliation.
2. Contribute to the annual budget process for the site, along with preparing budget information for allocated areas of responsibility.
3. Work with the Site Accountant and other Assistant Accountants on a day-to-day basis and provide holiday/exam cover as required.
4. Cost new products and create & amend production models when required.
5. Help to source and save all appropriate accreditations in relevant files.
6. Collate various information from other departments and file appropriately.
7. Potentially write posts on the company's social media platforms.
8. Help to apply and file various security clearances for MOD sites the company works on.
9. Document Control responsibilities and help to file all appropriate company drawings.
10. Cross-reference and authorise expenses from the company's staff.
11. Ensure all GRN are received.
12. Ensure all payment certificates are filed correctly.
You
Given that the company is a medium-sized construction sub-contractor, they will be looking for you to help out in both the finance department as well as in the administration/document control areas. The company is currently on a growth plan and expanding, making it a great time to join them. Over time, your role will be more defined but will provide you with valuable rounded experience in how a business operates.
Key Skills Required:
1. Accounts assistant experience and all the various responsibilities that go with this.
2. Experience working in the construction sector would be ideal, although not a necessity.
3. Any administration/Document Control knowledge would also be desirable.
4. Attention to detail, a crucial skill required for the role.
