Our client, a global educational and technology company, is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager into their growing team.
If you consider yourself to be an outstanding salesperson, one with drive, expertise, and ambition, then you will relish this role. We are looking for the Business Development Manager to have some experience ideally from a learning technologies B2B software sales background.
What will I be doing?
You will be responsible for creating a new business acquisition strategy across agreed areas and sectors. This is a very important role in helping the company deliver on its existing sales growth strategy. Of course, you will have the support of and collaborate with other senior colleagues across the company to help you successfully build a significant sales pipeline.
Within the role, you will have responsibility for new business customer acquisitions, lead generation, responding to inbound queries, writing tender proposals, and delivering on targeted campaigns.
Ultimately reporting to a head of sales, you will regularly work with a territory account manager and a marketing manager to help you execute your strategy effectively.
Your clients will be diverse, with multifaceted requirements and will span both public and private sectors. Therefore, we need someone who is adaptable, versatile, and flexible in their approach.
You will need to demonstrate at least 3 years’ experience within a customer-focused B2B and consultative sales role. Naturally, you will be required to travel, attend networking events, tenders, pitches, and industry events; therefore, you will need to have the flexibility to do so when required.
The ideal business developer is one who can demonstrate an ability to win both short-term tactical deals and long-term strategic customer wins.
You should have highly evolved communication and organizational skills that translate well into presentation skills. You must have some knowledge of Learning Management Systems or SaaS applications.
It would be helpful if you had experience of Moodle and Totara, Salesforce, or JIRA; however, they are not essential.

Your key metric for success will be the level of new and existing business that you successfully close against your agreed targets.
