We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and nurturing individual to join our team as Depute Head Teacher (ELC & Primary). The successful candidate will join our Primary Senior Leadership team (comprising of 1 HT, 1 DHT, 3 PTs and a Nursery Manager) as a values-led, highly-skilled and committed leader who is passionate about improving outcomes for all children through equity and excellence. This is a temporary, full time position until June 2026. This position may be suitable for a Secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post on a secondment basis.

North West Community Campus is situated close to the centre of Dumfries, making it accessible to all the local facilities. Being at a point where the A75 and A76 meet, travel to the campus is straightforward. The campus accommodates pupils aged from 2 to 18 with a facility for young people with severe and complex needs.
Dumfries and Galloway is renowned for its welcoming and friendly people and offers an excellent quality of life. Dumfries, itself, is a town with the best of both, boasting all the facilities of a large town whilst being within easy reach of beautiful countryside and the coast.

Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
