We are currently supporting a growing Essex based insurance company with their expansion. They are looking for an Insurance Broker to join the team. The Retail Insurance Broker will be responsible for managing and growing the retail insurance portfolio while providing expert, independent advice to clients. This role involves handling new policy enquiries, processing renewals, and delivering accurate, compliant documentation in line with regulatory standards. The successful candidate will be a proactive, detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills and a strong sales acumen, dedicated to securing the best insurance solutions for retail clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Client Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for retail insurance clients, handling queries via phone and email with a consultative approach.
Develop and maintain long-term client relationships by offering tailored advice, understanding client needs, and providing optimal insurance solutions.
* Policy Administration & Renewals:
Assess new policy enquiries and generate competitive insurance quotes through the company’s online systems.
Manage policy renewals by reviewing existing coverage and recommending adjustments to ensure clients have the most suitable protection.
* Advisory & Broking Services:
Advise clients on the range of retail insurance products available, guiding them through the selection process and ensuring their coverage meets current and future needs.
Negotiate with insurers and underwriters to secure favorable terms and competitive premiums for clients.
* Documentation & Compliance:
Prepare and issue policy documents, endorsements, and renewal notices with precision and clarity.
Ensure all activities adhere to Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) guidelines and internal compliance policies.
* Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with internal teams—including underwriting, claims, and customer service—to resolve client issues and update policy details.
Liaise with external partners to maintain strong industry relationships and stay informed about product changes and market trends.
* Continuous Improvement:
Monitor client feedback and operational processes to identify opportunities for service enhancement and business growth.
Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and developments in retail insurance products to ensure ongoing professional development.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience:
* Prior experience in an insurance broking or advisory role, particularly within a retail context, is highly desirable.
* Demonstrable understanding of retail insurance products, policy renewals, and FCA compliance.
Technical Skills:
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with industry-specific software systems.
* Strong numeracy skills and meticulous attention to detail in documentation and data management.
