Exclusively Retained Role
Employment Lawyer
Mid/Senior Positions Available
Highly Competitive Remuneration
High Degree of Flexibility
Dear Employment lawyers, do you want an opportunity to join a modern and vibrant law firm on the south coast? One that isn’t stuffy and full of office politics. One that doesn’t force you to do time-recording. One that allows you to learn, grow, be supported, but ultimately just get on with your job; when you want, from where you want, and without somebody looking over your shoulder/checking your billable hours every minute of the day. This could be the opportunity for you!
The small print (lawyers love that, right?)...
👉 You: An employment solicitor with commercial awareness and an understanding that client objectives/outcomes are the goal, where you have a solutions-focused approach.
👉 What we need: PQE is less important to me here, and there is scope for both mid as well as senior applicants. Instead, I’m looking for someone who has the confidence to work autonomously (with support) and get the job done in an efficient manner. You will be dealing with both contentious and non-contentious work, and whilst the role encompasses a broad range of employment-related issues, my client is looking for someone experienced in post-employment restraint.
👉 Your Location: My client has a brilliant office just a stone’s throw from Brighton Station, but you also have the opportunity to work remotely if you so wish! That said, there needs to be some mix between remote and office (minimum 1 day in the office). My client is keen to maintain their strong culture, and they firmly believe that to do so, you must know your colleagues. Of course, working together also promotes faster learning and ultimately provides a higher level of care to clients.
👉 Your Hours: Complete flexibility…if you are a night-owl, you can work through the night or if you are 5am in the gym bod then that works too. The work involves other people though, whether that is clients, opponents, barristers, the courts, witnesses or others; so availability for core hours (10am-3pm) on some days is key and ideally you should be able to commit to no less than the equivalent of 3/4 days a week. Equally, if your life makes that difficult or you want to work more or less hours, then let me know and we can find a way to make this work.
👉 Your Money: The package my client has in mind is extremely competitive, and I can say with confidence, that this firm is absolutely in the upper percentile for remuneration in the region. On top of this, a highly competitive bonus is about to be implemented that gives both a blanket payment to staff as well as a merit-based one. On top of the highly competitive remuneration and flexible working, there is also an enhanced holiday package, a contributory pension scheme & health cover.
If you are keen but not sure that you are right for this, then contact me anyway! I would rather have a chat with somebody that didn't work out, than you discount yourself because you think you don't tick every box.
