We are recruiting a Student Services Advisor to join our Bournemouth based client. As the first point of contact for students, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations within the student services department, with a particular focus on finance, accommodation, reception duties, and providing guidance and support to new and existing students.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the first point of contact for students, providing a welcoming and professional reception service.
2. Provide guidance and advice to both new and returning students on a range of services, including finance, accommodation, and general student inquiries.
3. Assist students in navigating financial processes, including understanding tuition fees, payment deadlines, and available financial support options.
4. Provide support to students with accommodation-related queries, helping them with booking, arrangements, and general queries.
5. Offer clerical and administrative support to the Student Services team, including data entry, record keeping, and handling confidential information.
6. Ensure all student inquiries are handled promptly, accurately, and in a professional manner, escalating complex issues where necessary.
Essential Skills and Experience:
1. Previous experience in a student services or administrative support role is highly desirable.
2. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
3. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with student management systems is an advantage.
5. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and with discretion.
6. Demonstrable experience in clerical and administrative tasks, including managing schedules, record-keeping, and communication.
7. A proactive and positive attitude, with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide clear, helpful advice in a variety of situations.
