Are you an enthusiastic engineer with a passion for maintaining high-quality production equipment? Our client, a leading producer of delicious Greek-style yogurt made from fresh British milk, is seeking a talented Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to join their expanding team in Chalfont St. Peter, Buckinghamshire.
About the Role:
As a key member of the engineering team, you will report directly to the Engineering Manager and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct regular maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment (60% Mechanical, 40% Electrical).
2. Factory Support: Provide essential mechanical support to all factory machines, including conveyors, labellers, scales, and process equipment.
3. Routine Inspections: Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and respond promptly to breakdowns.
4. Team Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to minimise downtime and enhance efficiency.
5. Documentation: Complete necessary engineering documentation with a keen eye for detail.
6. Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with Food, Health & Safety regulations.
What We're Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
1. Experience with hydraulic systems, pneumatics, conveyor systems, pumps, and gearboxes.
2. Electrical qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds) are an advantage.
3. Knowledge of process plant and filler/packaging machinery is desirable.
4. Familiarity with HMI/PLC programming is a plus.
5. A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
