Service care Solutions are working in partnership with our established client to recruit an experienced Consultant Paediatrician / Psychiatrist for a specialist opportunity supporting Children and Younger People with Neurodevelopmental conditions. Our client provide a gold-standard service to Children, Younger People and their Families throughout the UK. They are clinically-led and follow NICE guidelines with their tailored approach to ADHD and ASD treatment.
Job Purpose: Associate Paediatrician/Psychiatrist
Pay: £120-£160 LTD p/h | Outside IR35
Location: Leamington Spa, Warwickshire (Flexible/Hybrid Considered)
Working Hours: Monday-Saturday, 09:00-17:00 (Flexible)
Services and Duties:
The role involves conducting neurodevelopmental assessments, diagnosing, and implementing interventions for children and young people, particularly in relation to anxiety, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct neurodevelopmental assessments for ADHD and ASD, considering differential and/or co-occurring conditions.
* Take a full history and carry out thorough physical examinations, including growth parameters and cardiac assessments.
* Assess social interaction, communication, repetitive/restrictive behaviours, sensory differences, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.
* Work under NICE guidelines in collaboration with a specialist nurse, senior paediatric medical consultant, and clinical psychologist.
* Administer clinical assessments, make diagnostic decisions with senior medical supervision, and provide feedback to families both verbally and in writing.
* Prescribe and review medication, ensuring safe and effective treatment.
* Refer patients to NHS or specialist services where required.
* Provide ongoing communication with families and primary care providers.
* Complete risk assessments and review safeguarding needs during ongoing patient care.
* Write professional medical reports within expected timeframes.
* Maintain up-to-date client records on the Practice Management software platform.
* Ensure ethical and shared decision-making is incorporated into patient care.
* Offer training and consultation to staff to enhance expertise in neurodevelopmental conditions.
* Maintain professional registration and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to uphold high standards of care.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Professional qualification as a Paediatrician or Psychiatrist (MRCPCH or MRCPsych).
* GMC registration.
