National Account Manager – Grocery Retail/ Discounters ‘Growth Channel’

Purpose of the position:
To drive and increase the brand's performance within the Grocery channel alongside gaining new listings with major grocery multiples.
Responsibilities:
1. Ownership for managing key strategic accounts in the UK and several other smaller accounts across 8 core SKUs (Electrolyte, ElectrolytePro, Protein 10g, ProteinPro).
2. Gain listings within key accounts that are not already listed and manage existing business that needs relationship boosts.
3. Think outside the box to gain new business and focus on our core objective to drive distribution across the UK.
4. Expand the brand's visibility across retailers and ensure strong relations with existing accounts, growing current listings to be in larger landscapes within the retailers.
5. Develop joint business plans, forecasting, and promotional planning.
6. Set the commercial strategy for your accounts and input on strategic decisions within the commercial function.
7. Work cross-functionally with the category, creative, and marketing teams to drive growth.
8. Drive brand awareness and penetration.
9. Analyze market trends and competitor activity within the sports drink category to identify growth opportunities within grocery retail.
10. Utilize data and analytics to inform strategic decision-making, optimize pricing and promotions, and track progress towards achieving sales targets.
11. Develop strong, collaborative relationships with personnel including buyers, category managers, and marketing teams to secure new listings, optimize promotional opportunities, and ensure successful product placement.
What we are looking for:
1. A confident, high calibre (Senior) National Account Manager with experience of top accounts, 3+ years proven success with high level exposure to the ‘right way’ of doing things.
2. Ability to lead and do with little guidance, using initiative and creativity to get things done.
3. Excellent written, verbal communication, and influencing skills.
4. An individual that can have fun along the way and represent our brand values.
5. Ability to think creatively and strategically with a growth mindset.
6. Proven sales experience with a track record of hitting targets.
7. Knowledge of commercial and office software (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint).
8. Team player with ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
9. Good understanding of health and wellness trends.
Other information:
Salary range: Competitive
Performance-based bonus
Learning allowance to progress your skills in relevant areas
Working hours: Mon to Fri, 08:30 – 16:30 (hybrid working model though preference for 2-3 core days in the office)
Office location: Loughton, Essex (on Central Line)
Reporting structure: Head of Sales
Travel: As required throughout the UK to visit key customers
