We are looking to recruit a Staff Nurse who wants to work in a busy, dynamic and friendly Outpatient Department to deliver a modern-day outpatients service.
We are looking for a motivated and flexible staff nurse to join our Outpatient team, where you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills, clinic management and work autonomously in our nurse led dressing clinics. Outpatients at Northumbria provides staff the opportunity to use IT and technology to support patient pathways in new and innovative ways.
We work across multiple Outpatients areas providing a seven-day service. You will also be required to support and manage trauma and Orthopaedics clinics based at our specialist emergency hospital, and work within Outpatient departments.

* To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the department team under the direction of the Ward Manager and in their absence

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* To provide nursing care to a department of patients and to provide verbal and written handovers to nursing colleagues and the multi-disciplinary team
* Work closely with the MDT in supporting patient care
* When responsible for the department to ensure that individualised pathways are formulated and carried out fully for each patient on the department and across all areas of outpatients
Person specification
* 1st Level live NMC registered Nurse
* Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Evidence of qualification to undertake the supervision, teaching and assessing of students (essential requirement for post, expectation this will be completed within an 18 month period).
* Clinic management experience
* Experience in Emergency Surgery and Elective Care
