Barking & Dagenham College are recruiting for a Lecturer-Adult Community to join our team on a part-time (26 hours per week), fixed term basis to 24th June 2025. The salary scale for this role is £25,494 - £44,526 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting, depending on qualifications and experience. This will be pro rata'd to 26 hours per week. The Lecturer-Adult Community Role; You will deliver engaging lessons for adult learners to develop their soft skills, upskilling, and guiding them to positive destinations. Key responsibilities of our Lecturer-Adult Community; Plan and develops lessons, including the development of schemes of work Develop and implement learner-centred assessment methods, with focus on constructive and development feedback for our students Encourage, monitor and report on the attendance, progress and achievements of students Ensure safe working environments for students and colleagues, enforce health and safety standard in your area, ensuring all students understand and comply Undertake personal coaching and pastoral responsibilities for designated students in order to support them int heir own development and future progression Keep abreast of industry developments in your specialist area to ensure the relevance and continued employability of our students Actively participate in continuing professional development around theory and practice within the education sector Our ideal Lecturer-Adult Community should have the following qualifications, skills and experience; Hold a teaching qualification and have experience of teaching in the Further or Higher Education sectors. Have a level 3 qualification in the subject relevant to the course you will be delivering, and be prepared to undertake a Further Education teaching qualification with our support, as part of our Passport to Teaching programme. Ability to deliver a mixed course file of EL3-L3 qualifications. Possess adaptable teaching strategies and knowledge to deliver on short, sharp qualifications Have a good understanding and experience of quality assurance processes.
