Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KGH) and Northampton General Hospital (NGH) came together to form the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire (UHN) provider collaborative in 2021. Our 10,000 colleagues deliver high quality services to the population of Northamptonshire and surrounding areas and our combined Trust’s turnover is c.£900M.
With the recent appointment of a joint Chair and joint CEO with University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL), UHN is now entering into an exciting new phase of wider collaboration. This collaboration will be central to our ambitions to deliver improving health outcomes and reducing health inequalities for patients throughout East Midlands against a challenging environment.
Both UHN hospitals have ambitious and wide-ranging plans, including KGH’s New Hospital Programme, which will transform services and ensure our teams can deliver the highest quality care and improve outcomes and experience for our local communities.
The UHN Chief Finance Officer is a voting Board member of KGH and NGH and provides executive leadership to the Finance function in both Trusts. Working closely with executive directors, senior clinical and operational leaders, as well as representing the Trusts with partner organisations and stakeholders, you will play a critical role in shaping our long-term vision and financial strategies and ensuring the achievement of our objectives and continuous performance improvement.
As our CFO, you will work with the executive team and partners across the NHS, local authority and voluntary sector to ensure finance is a true strategic enabler. You will play your part in strengthening our culture to ensure our hospitals are delivering the best experience for our patients and colleagues and you will ensure our financial strategy supports our ambition as a collaborative in the delivery of teaching and research excellence. You will also develop strong collaborative partnerships with colleagues at UHL as the three hospitals work more closely together for the benefit of patients and colleagues.
At UHN our priority is to create an inclusive place to work where people are empowered to make a difference. We value and respect the diversity of our employees and aim to recruit a workforce which reflects the communities we serve and is equipped to deliver the best service to our patients. We welcome all applications irrespective of protected characteristic and in particular those from under-represented groups.
We are keen to hear from established Chief Finance Officers working in health, care and related sectors who demonstrate the values, skills and behaviours necessary to take us on the next stage of our journey. If our mission inspires you and you share our values, we would love to hear from you.
* Please submit your application as soon as possible as we reserve the right to close any adverts before the closing date once we have received sufficient applications.
